Where Are the Next Square Dance Generation

Where are the next square dance generation? Square dancing is a American tradition and today's square dancers help to preserve that history. Square dancing today is generally found in schools and churches across the United States. The majority of square dancers are seniors, with a sprinkling of 40 to 50 ish dancers. These 40 to 50 ish dancers are the next generation of square dancers! Seniors must help the 40 to 50 ish to recruit new square dancers, if square dancing is to survive.

If you Googled your way here with the keywords "square dancers" to read this article, go back one page and look at the Results. Top, right of the Google page and you will find the Results 1 -10 about 40,900,000 results for "square dancers". This means that there are that many articles about square dancing to browse in Google. This high ranking web site is not a fluke! Time and effort in design and maintenance of this web site keeps Virginia Square Dancers at the # 1 position for square dancing. Take a critical view of this web site; is it easy to navigate, does it look modern, and are you exposed to relevant and timely material that relates to square dancing? Does this web site have the ability to intrigue and satisfy new potential square dancers enough so they might join our square dance community?

Now, let me refer you to the second paragraph one more time. The 40 and 50 ish crowd use the Internet to get news and to find new activities to join in! So where are the Square Dance Clubs going to recruit new members?

I invested heavily in designing cute flyers and posting these flyers all around Hampton Roads for the club that I was a member of for their last Open House, cannot use Hoedown, the new recruits just do not know what this term means. This club had one of their largest turnouts for the Open House in the last ten years, but not one of these guests read or knew about the flyers I posted! They all found about the Open House through the Internet!

The next generation that square dance clubs want to recruit is right here on the Internet. Let Virginia Square Dancers help your club recruit new members, so I can have someone to square dance with in the future! Virginia Square Dancers is completely free to the square dance clubs in Virginia to post news and other articles. Just email me your articles. Click here to email me.
